Santa Claus is coming to Oakley!

IMG_1362How exciting! Beautiful Oakley is getting ready for the winter and also for the “most wonderful time of the year”. Are you wondering if Jack Frost is going to visit California this year? Well, with or without Jack, Oakley is still be an amazing community to spend your weekends and holiday festivities. Why? Because Santa is coming to Oakley… twice!

So what’s happening in Oakley in December? For starters, on Saturday the 5th, there will be the Christmas tree lighting at 6pm at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street. Games and activities, choir performances, free refreshments and more! Naturally, Santa Claus couldn’t miss this gathering! Don’t forget your camera (or smartphone).

On Saturday 12th, Santa Claus is coming to Oakley again for a continental Christmas breakfast at 10am with all the families living in this wonderful community, in the City Council Chambers, 3231 Main Street. For $5 you will be enjoying a very generous meal and all children will be offered a craft and a small gift. Please note: pre-registration is required. Also, ‘helping out’ Santa, the Friends of Oakley will be distributing Christmas food baskets and gifts to Families of Oakley in need on Sunday 13th at O’Hara Park Middle School’s gymnasium, located at 1100 O’Hara Avenue. If you’re interested in volunteering (and be a Santa’s helper) you can participate at the food sorting and basket distribution, on Friday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 7 p.m.; at the prep event on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (estimated based on preparation) and the distribution on Sunday!
