As the President of DeNova Homes, Inc., Dave Sanson supervises all of the day to day operations and ensures that his commitment to providing complete customer satisfaction is echoed by all of the members of the DeNova management team and staff.
In 1987, Dave graduated with honors, from the California State University at Chico with a double major in Construction Engineering and Business Administration. Upon graduating, he immediately moved into the position of General Manager with Wood Valley Development, Inc., with responsibilities that ranged from land acquisition to project build out of both multi-family and single family residential projects. Wood Valley brought both success in Dave's career and the incorporation of his own company, DeNova Homes. Under Dave's care, knowledge and expertise, the company has grown quickly and steadily ever since.
Dave possesses phenomenal skills for management, overseeing three levels of supervision, over 120 employees, and numerous subcontractors and varying sized projects. All members of the DeNova team look to Dave for his leadership and experience. His strong yet compassionate personality makes him effective as a teacher and mentor. Dave has cultivated many years of respect from his employees and his business associates alike.
The most recent example of his business savvy is the union of
DeNova Homes and Thomas Properties. This decision has opened entirely new directions for the company, keeping DeNova right in line with the development needs of the area. Dave has tremendous vision and is constantly advancing his company to new levels. The future of the company has no limits with Dave at the helm.
In 2006, Dave was elected to the Board of Directors for Home Aid Northern California. Additionally he maintains an active Role in the Homebuilders Association of Northern California and the California Building Industry Association.
- Executive Vice President -
With a family tradition of homebuilding and over 16 years of experience within the industry, Lori Sanson is a respected executive in the Northern California homebuilding industry. A founding member of DeNova Homes, Lori has been involved with nearly every aspect of the business, from operations to sales management. This multitude of talents has served as a solid foundation for her current role as DeNova's Executive Vice President, where she is responsible for overseeing Sales & Marketing and Customer Relations, as well as working with DeNova's legal team on corporate and contract review. She also works closely with Forward Planning, architects and design on product research to ensure DeNova Homes products continue to be the very best.
- Vice President Land Acquisition & Development -
Bob Weiss brings over 30 years of experience to DeNova Homes, Inc. His background includes experience in the residential development industry, project planning, development and construction. Prior to joining our DeNova Homes team, Bob was one of the founding members of the Ryness Company, the principal owner of The Rob Company, Land Acquisition Specialist for Greystone Homes, Lennar Communities and Meritage Corporation.
- Vice President of Site Development -
Steve Berch has worked on the site development side of the construction industry for almost 40 years. His father (then Executive Vice President of Oliver DeSilva, Inc.) would drop him off at a job site or quarry starting the summer of his 13th year and pick him up on his way home. After attending Stanford University, Steve went to work full time at DeSilva and as Chief Estimator specialized in heavy grading and project development for some of the largest home builders in the industry. That expertise is now utilized during project feasibility and budgeting, and Steve's lifelong contacts in the industry help ensure that our projects are built by some of the most respected and well known professional subcontractors in Northern California.
- Warranty Manager -
Michael brings a variety of talents to his position as Warranty Manager with DeNova Homes. His degree in Social Sciences provides the perfect tools for working with and educating homeowners. Additionally, his specialty skills and over 20 years of experience in various aspects of construction from drywall and tile to custom painting give him the perfect eye for DeNova's quality control.
- Vice President of Purchasing and Operations -
Steph Peek has been with the DeNova Homes team since 1997. As VP of Operations she oversees the corporate systems and building process from project inception to expiration of the warranty period. Steph has implemented successful operational systems for DeNova Homes including value engineering processes and detailed construction scheduling. On a daily basis Steph facilitates correspondence between corporate office and field construction operations. Her energetic personality is an asset when researching and developing relationships with prospective sub-contractors, while preserving long standing relationships with all associates.
- Director of Sales & Marketing -
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Debra manages sales agents at multiple communities, coordinates and maintains marketing strategies for new home sales, reviews and approves all media and merchandising, prepares and monitors budgets and serves as the point of contact for DeNova's corporate broker, lenders and title companies. Debra's success in the homebuilding industry and her role on the DeNova team can be attributed to 20 years of experience that includes Marketing Director at Kaufman and Broad, Western Pacific Housing and Larwin Company.
- Controller -
By completing all necessary tasks for cost control, software development, loan administration, income tax preparation and overall financial management, Karen's 20 years of accounting experience have helped create an organized system of financial operations and procedures for the corporate office.
- Construction Manager -
Mike Benson has served in the building industry for over 25 years. He is responsible for maintaining the level of quality that has become a tradition of DeNova products. Mike brings tremendous experience and leadership to DeNova's team. With involvement in coordinating and scheduling all aspects of site development and vertical construction as well as commanding DeNova's own crews, Mike's skill is evident in the finished product DeNova delivers under his care.
