On December 10, DeNova Homes, a Pleasant Hill based builder, embarked on a job unlike any other it had ever undertaken. Instead of a timeline counted in months, this job was started and completed within 5 days, 9 hours. The name of this monumental project? The hit ABC show, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition." During the 24-hour around the clock build, DeNova Homes and a legion of dedicated subcontractors, vendors, employees, and civilians, volunteered their time and services in order to provide a new home for the Sears family of Martinez, California. The home was entirely demolished, rebuilt, furnished, and landscaped in a fashion that suited the unique needs of the Sears family and allowed them once again be together under one roof.
On Sunday, January 23rd ABC and "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" introduced the nation to this special family and on Monday, January 24th the follow up show, "How'd They Do That?" detailed the amazing amount of work and planning that went into bringing a new beginning to a family who had endured so much.
DeNova Homes sincerely thanks everyone whose selfless donation of their time, materials and services helped reunite the Sears family.
