3 Great Tips for an Easy Move

2526330859_923e27391c_z

There are lots of people who love to be able to get into a whole new place for a change. The only problem with that is the issue of needing to let go of the old to embrace the new. That problem causes so many to procrastinate and come up with all kinds of reasons why waiting to pack items can wait for another day. Then, when the moving day arrives, things are crazy to say the least. We have 3 tips here that we believe will help you to stay ahead of yourself so moving won’t be such a burden. Take these words of advice and you should find yourself on the right path with far less stress and resistance.

1. Actually make a PLAN to move.

Moving to a new place is really no joke. One of the things you will notice once you begin to pack is just how many things you have accumulated. This is why you want to make sure to tackle this as early on as possible.  Failing to at least have a plan to pack and have everything situated can result in a very hard time trying to do everything within the week of moving day.

2. Keep your small children and pets away from the moving process.

Making sure your children and pets are under supervision of someone not working in the move can really help the entire process. With the small children and pets out of the way, you will have better focus on getting everything moved and that alone will help save you a lot of time and money in the end.

3. Consider having insurance if you hire a professional crew.

Sometimes you may decide to delay things just because you will use a moving crew and that’s fine. Just make sure you are going to get insurance in case something was to get broken or lost along the way. Things getting broken or lost by a careless crew can really take stress levels to new heights if you aren’t prepared.

These are our three tips that we believe will help you remain stress-free during the moving process. As you have read through these, we hope that you will think of some other things that will help to alleviate your stress level during every move you may have in the future.

How To Improve Your Credit Situation Before Buying A Home

How To Improve Your Credit Situation Before Buying A Home

Some people tend to have the unrealistic idea that the home buying process starts once they are actively searching and viewing potential homes. For a first time buyer, that seems to make perfect sense as we all have to learn some things on our first time around. However, there are just a lot of things that nobody should have to go into the buying process without knowing. We would never want to leave anyone out in the cold on any part of the home buying process.

That is why we encourage all first time home buyers and those who understand that they could use a few extra tips to review this article. Your credit is a huge factor in the process of buying a home and should be taken very seriously. in fact, you should take care of your credit issues long before you even start looking for homes to purchase. If you find that there are some issues with your credit, make sure to follow the advice here in this article mentioned below.

1. Take the Time to Order Your Credit Report – If you don’t already have a very recent copy of it, make sure that you get one. If you don’t know what problems exist on your credit report, it can really come back to haunt you in the end. This is a case where what you don’t know CAN hurt you.

2. Correct Mistakes and Erroneous Things on Your Report – Believe it or not, there are times when clerical mistakes may show up on your report. An amount you owe can be showing as much greater than it should be, or payments being made may not be getting reported properly. Review your report very carefully and make the necessary calls to debtors when needed to get everything straightened out.

3. Never Miss a Payment – In order to ensure that your credit report will continue to be boosted to higher heights, you will need to make all payments to debtors on time. If there are debtors on the report that shouldn’t be there, you will need to make contact with the credit reporting agency to dispute the account that shows on your report.

4. Keep All Balances Low – You should never want to have a running balance that meets or exceeds half of your allowed credit limit. This is will just keep you forever making payments and therefore losing so much money to interest payments.

5. Avoid Other Larger Purchases Before Buying Your Home – Doing something like purchasing a new vehicle right before wanting to purchase a new home can actually backfire on you if you aren’t careful. It’s usually a good idea to hold off on getting the vehicle loan taken out until you have at least secured your mortgage.

Hopefully this information will prove to be as useful for you as it has been to many others over the years. Our team at DeNova Homes can always provide you with some great advice and point you in the right direction. 3 Ways to Keep Your Pets Safe From Swimming Dangers

3 Ways to Keep Your Pets Safe From Swimming Dangers

It seems that most people don’t realize their pets can actually drown in swimming pools. When it comes to the swimming pool, a lot of the same precautions you take for your children apply to your pets as well. Each year there are situations where people fall victim to seeing their beloved pets drowned in their back yards. This is why we have taken the liberty of bringing this to light for everyone here. Continue to read and see the 3 ways we suggest you use to keep your pets safe around swimming pools.

1. Install a fence.

Installing a fence will not only keep your pets out but your children as well. This is probably one of the best things you can do when it comes to making sure you can control the activity of people and pets in your swimming pool at any given time.

2. Install an alarm on your pool.

Not many people seem to know that this actually exists. For those who want just that added security of knowing when the waters have been disturbed by a body splashing in, this is a great choice. This is often also a great addition to the use of the fencing

3. Make it easier for pets to exit the pool.

We will use dogs for example. Even though they are excellent swimmers, the problem lies with them being able to exit the pool. Depending on how your pool is built, it can be next to impossible for your pets to escape and will lead to their deaths. Investing in ramps like the Skamper-Ramp can help get rid of this problem for those who love allowing their pets to freely swim.

As mentioned before, most of the precautions you will take for your pets you should also make sure to consider for your children as well. Forgetting to make sure everything is safe for everyone and every pet who will enjoy your pool can lead to tragedies nobody wants to ever have to witness.

What Should Be On Your To-Do List For Summer?

What Should be on Your To-Do List for Summer

Summer will be upon us before we know it and tons of fun should come along with it. We may very well still have very much work to do during the summer, but we must make the time to enjoy it. At the end of the day, we all have one life and must take the time to enjoy as many exciting moments that we can. So, what’s on your list for this summer? You should be working on that list by now. If not, don’t worry, we have plenty of great suggestions for you here.

Enjoy an Entire Day at a Beach or Beautiful Lake

As long as you don’t forget the sunscreen, a lot of great fun in the sun near a huge body of water is great for relaxing.

Make Sure You Get Your Beauty Sleep

For many of us, just the fact that we have actually stopped working should be a huge step in the right direction. For those who identify with that statement, get plenty of rest this summer. Everyone has to bring things to a complete halt from time to time. Most times, it’s the only way to get the rest we so desperately need to be more productive later on.

Go Out for a Massage

Not everyone loves massages, but you will never know until you at least give it a try. Finding the best masseuse can be as easy as finding out through one of your family or friends who know someone.

Have a Picnic

Having a picnic is probably one of the things that you just shouldn’t ever leave out of summer plans. One of the best things about a picnic is that it doesn’t require much. Just a few good people, a few snacks and the fun will provide itself.

Go To An Amusement Park

This is probably one of the most common places people go easily during the summer and for good reason. Amusement parks are one of the most cost-effective ways to get some great stress relief especially if you are willing to get on the rides.

Whatever you do this summer you should make it great! Fun doesn’t mean you have to spend lots of money or have a full entourage of people with you everywhere you go. Having fun is all about the way you feel regardless of how many people are with you at any given moment. Summer is just one of the great times to get out and experience life before the winter months come back around to push everyone back indoors.

Ways to Make Good Use of Vinegar Around Your Home

Ways to Make Good Use of Vinegar Around Your Home

When it comes down to keeping your home clean and safe, you are more likely to get shocked at the prices of cleaning agents in your local stores. They have so many chemical mixtures and concoctions that really are harmful for you, your kids, your pets or all three at once. Not to mention the effect you will be having on the environment if you decide to go with a lot of those expensive harsh chemicals in your home. After a lot of research, we have found that you are able to achieve remedies to most of your home cleaning, odor removing and other things just by making use of vinegar. Yes, we said vinegar. Take a look at some of the things we have found are actually very useful when it comes to using vinegar around the house.

Cleaning Hardwood Flooring

If you take half a cup of white vinegar and a gallon of lukewarm water you can use that to clean your wood flooring. Take care not to get your wood too soaking wet because that could cause issues. Also, this can remove wax from flooring for when you are planning to redo your waxing on your floor.

Cleaning Kitchen and Bathroom Surfaces

Using a half cup of distilled vinegar for every cup of water will take care of these tasks. You would think the smell may linger too long, but it actually doesn’t stay around too long. However, if you want the smell, you could always just add more vinegar to the mix. This isn’t recommended for use on marble or other stone types of countertops.

Cleaning Glassware and Ceramics

Using a cloth soaked with vinegar and rinsing them with water is a great way to restore those items back to their original shine.

Removing Bathtub Rings and Shower Grime

To do this, just use pure vinegar along with a scrub brush. Once done, just rinse with water and you will notice all of your rings and grime are taken away very easily.

Drainage Cleaner

Instead of paying so much for a harsh drain cleaner that may or may not work, use this solution. Mix baking soda within your drain by first pouring one cup of baking soda down the drain. After having boiled some vinegar, pour one cup of the hot vinegar down after the baking soda. Leave it for half an hour and then flush the mixture with boiling hot water.

Are you as surprised as we are about some of these solutions? Well, just so you know, there are plenty more solutions like these you can use around your home. You can even control the ant population in and around your home by pouring vinegar in the places you see ants trailing and their beds. If you are worried about having a vinegar smell in your home, not only will the smell leave quickly, but you wont’ have to worry about breathing in other harmful chemicals as well.
